This is undoubtedly the most beautiful Royston turquoise cabochon I have ever seen or worked with. The rich teal hue in this one is like nothing I have ever seen. I paid $380 for this cabochon, as this older Royston is just so hard to come by anymore. Royston turquoise has a whole gamut of flavors, and I feel like the older stuff was the sweet spot at this mine in Nevada. Nevada is bittersweet for me anymore, and anyone who knows me, knows why. As I was l creating the backside, paying respect to its origin, so many memories of my time in Nevada just flooded my brain. Baffles me how beautiful turquoise and Variscite can come out of that arid, brown and dusty landscape.
